4/30/2021 1 Comment About NorcoOur selection of new bikes are Norco, a name we trust. This brand has a good reputation of high value which is designed and engineered in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.
The company started in 1964 by Bert Lewis in a converted chicken coop. Well we all have to start somewhere. They now sell over 150 models for all types of riders including adults, kids, recreational, competitors, and anyone in-between. Because it is a Canadian company, they really know our road conditions and have bikes for all types of terrain and climates for riders worldwide. They were the first manufacturer of mountain bikes in 1995 in North America. What they say that sets them apart from other manufacturers is their "suspension technologies". They acquired the license to offer the Horst Hanging Link, Horst Rocker Link, and the High Single Pivot (HSP). This is aimed to provide the best handling, climbing and descending experience with different types of bikes and with rigorous testing of course. Mountain bikes are their flagship product, which are designed and engineered in B.C. but frames are made in Asia, and bikes are assembled by the bike shops themselves. This really says alot about the bike shops. They have to be responsible for the proper fit and assembly of these bikes. If they were to be sold in a Walmart or Canadian Tire, could you trust that they were assembled correctly, and with adequate skilled workers? Probably not. That could be another topic for discussion.
